Woolworths has issued a recall notice for a popular brand of mince pies days before Christmas over metal contamination concerns.

Shortcrust Summer Berry Mince Pies sold across stores in New South Wales were recalled due to the "presence of foreign matter" and potential injury concerns.
Food Standards Australia New Zealand issued the notice on December 22, urging customers to return the product.
Any customers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.
Products can be returned to the place of purchase in exchange for a full refund.

Another recall was issued for the same product in New Zealand with a best before date of December 12 and 13.
"If you have purchased this product, do not consume," the notice read.
